Mark Your Calendars: March 26th, 2024

We're not just talking about any old Tuesday. On March 26th, 2024, from 1:30 to 7 p.m., head down to the Desjardins Room (banquet room on the 2nd floor) at the Meredith Centre (23, chemin Cecil). It's your chance to roll up your sleeve and be a hero!

Why Should You Donate?

Now, you might be wondering, "Why should I donate blood?" Well, besides the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you're saving lives, donating blood has tangible benefits for both the donor and the recipient. Plus, you get free snacks! Win-win, right?

Who Can Donate?

Not sure if you're eligible to donate? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Héma-Québec has some pretty strict criteria to ensure the safety of both donors and recipients. Here are just a few points to consider:

  • You must be in good health.
  • You must meet the age requirements (usually between 18 and 70 years old).
  • You must weigh at least 110 lbs (50 kg).
  • Certain medical conditions or recent travels might disqualify you temporarily.

For the full list of eligibility criteria, you can check out Héma-Québec's guidelines. Still not sure? It never hurts to reach out and ask!

How Can You Help?

Ready to roll up your sleeve and make a difference? Awesome! To help us reach our goal of collecting 70 blood donations, you'll need to book an appointment in advance. Here's how:

  • Online: Head to Héma-Québec's website to book your slot.
  • By Phone: Prefer the old-fashioned way? Give them a call at 1-800-343-7264.

Can't Donate? No Problem!

Maybe you're unable to donate blood for various reasons, but you still want to support the cause. Well, good news! There are plenty of ways to get involved, from volunteering your time to spreading the word. Check out how you can make a difference as a volunteer here.

So, what are you waiting for? Whether you're a seasoned donor or thinking about giving blood for the first time, your contribution could mean the world to someone in need. Mark your calendars, spread the word, and let's make March 26th a day to remember in Chelsea, Quebec! See you there, heroes!
