Although there are no trail markers, fear not, for the well-trodden path will guide you every step of the way. As you wander through the forest, with leaves crunching beneath your feet, a sense of tranquillity washes over you.
After approximately 2.6 kilometres of hiking, we arrive at a breathtaking lookout point. Here, perched atop a bench, we can take a well-deserved break while relishing the captivating view that stretches before us. The lush greenery, interspersed with vibrant splashes of colour, is a sight to behold.
Feeling a bit peckish? Look no further than the Lauriault Parking Lot, located near Promenade Champlain. This delightful spot, equipped with numerous picnic tables, invites you to savour a scrumptious lunch amidst nature's grandeur. Whether you visit in summer or winter, this picturesque setting is sure to enhance your dining experience.
To keep the adventure going, we venture onward, crossing over Champlain and entering the Mulvihill parking lot. As we step foot into this new section of the trail, we encounter a slightly narrower and rockier path. While the absence of trail markers may raise a flicker of concern, the path's popularity ensures that the risk of getting lost is minimal. With each step, we draw closer to immersing ourselves in the beauty of the Mackenzie King Estate.
At approximately the 3-kilometre mark, we find ourselves captivated by the historic Mackenzie King Estate. 🏰 This enchanting site, beloved by former Prime Minister Mackenzie King himself, offers a glimpse into the past while surrounded by nature's captivating allure. As we meander through the estate, exploring the ruins and contemplating the life of Mackenzie King, we cannot help but be in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.
